Custom Fields

Discover how to use LeadLoft's new feature, Custom Fields, to streamline customize the fields and data you store within your CRM.

Let's quickly guide you through a cool new feature in LeadLoft—custom fields! This feature is simple to use and now live for everyone.

How to Access Custom Fields

  1. Open LeadLoft.
  2. Click on settings at the bottom left.
  3. Navigate to the custom fields tab.

Adding Custom Fields

Within this tab, you can see all your existing fields that are pre-set in LeadLoft. If you want to add more, here’s how:

  1. Choose to create custom fields for leads, contacts, or deals.
  2. Click on the category you want, and at the bottom, you’ll see an option to create a new field.
  3. Name your new field and select the type you need: text, numbers, URLs, checkboxes, etc.
  4. Decide if you want the field visible or hidden, depending on the kind of data it will hold.

Example 1: Creating a Deal Field

If you need to track or attach contracts to deals, create a field named “contract” and select file upload as the field type. Keep it visible, and just like that, you have your new field set up!

Example 2: Creating a Lead Field

Let’s say you want to assign account managers to leads. Create a field named “Account Manager”, select ‘user’ as the field type, and keep it visible. Arrange it at the top of the page if it’s a frequently used field, making it more accessible.

Editing & Using Fields

Once you’ve created a field, you can edit it like any other—simply save the changes once you’re done.

One amazing addition is the ability to filter leads using the custom fields you created. Each new field automatically adds a new filter option.

Advanced Filtering & Workflows

  1. Go to advanced filters, add a filter, and you’ll see your new field there as an option.
  2. Select the specific data you want to filter by—like ‘account manager’ and click ‘Save’
  3. For easy access, save this to a workflow and integrate it into your sales or onboarding processes as needed.

Personalizing with Custom Fields

You can also use these fields to personalize your communication. For instance, while drafting an email, you can add personalization tags using custom fields, like naming the account manager in an onboarding email.

Wrapping Up

Creating and utilizing custom fields is pretty straightforward and efficient. Whether it’s for leads, deals, or contacts, these fields will appear where you need them. Feel free to experiment and make the most out of this feature to streamline your processes and interactions. If you run into any questions or issues, don’t hesitate to reach out to our team!
